Mei spots a figure in the distance of a grass field one day. As she longs for a connection with this person, she notices the
hollowing loneliness within her. She is forced to face her internal troubles and eventually embraces her solitude.

ENVIRONMENT 1 (THE HILL)
The hill where Mei meets Someone, and a place of longing.STILLS
PROCESS
Using a base mesh to create the hill, I digitally painted backgrounds based off of the base mesh, which was then composited together with the 3D animated characters in post production. The 2D painted backgrounds were made to coexist with the 3D characters to emphasize the concept of Mei treading through an unfamiliar space and feelings.
